Our Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary

The sanctuary of St. Stephen's, Steubenville is open and airy with plenty of light.

The nave is traditionally laid out with the baptismal font in position as you enter.  The walk around altar and wrap around rail allow for a very personal an intimate worship experience.

Each first Sunday of the month, employing the openness of the environment, we offer an anointing and laying on of hands aspect to the Holy Eucharist.

This is truly a Holy Space.

Sunday School

Sunday School

As you can see, the children enjoy the community aspect of Sunday School--and occasionally, they actually learn something!  Still, it is one of God's many blessings among us to be able to provide for their Christian education as well as to learn from all of their exuberance and innocence.  Jenn Sperry does a wonderful job directing the activities.

Noah's Park--not the Titanic!

We're going green!

The community garden is ready to harvest--almost!

We're going green--literally!

As a form of outreach, we are attempting an earthly ministry--a community garden.  With the help of several of our 'green thumb' parishioners, we have used some of our green space in the rear of the church to grow vegetables for community use.  Special thanks to Jerry Mathieu and Debbie Venci for their generous contributions!

Dooouuughnuuuts!

Our first annual Joint Parish picnic!

Our Secretary, Kris Hare, peruses the White Elephant Table.

Our outreach tables help collect food for the needy, especially for the F.I.S.H. Food Pantry across the street form our sister Church in East Liverpool.  Also, we have a White Elephant Table that earns a little spending money for the E.C.W.  One person's bane is another's blessing!
